If I were asked to name my top five fests I would defiantly put the Academy Awards in the top five. The Emmys and Oscars are just about perfect but sometimes when life gets you down it is nice to see some light at the end of the tunnel. So, what if we got together to watch the academy Awards? I have thought about this for years. It would be great fun to share with all of us and it would also be a good chance for us to make some changes in our community.
We can start by putting up a sign: that says “WHY DON’T WE GET YET TO KNOW WHAT THE ACADEMY AWakens?”. I have thought about this for years but I haven’t written it down because I don’t know how it will go over. I mean we all know that most of the celebrities and actors who are involved in these shows are the best thing that ever happened to them so why not let everyone know why they are the best.
I have another idea: We should make a list of people from the community who are influential and famous and invite them to attend. I have a few ideas that I am willing to try. Lets face it, most celebrities are so busy being the center of attention that they really don’t care about their community at all. We can show them and prove to them that we appreciate the support that they give to the local schools and youth programs.
I have also thought: about having a picnic table outside of the theater where people can come and enjoy the day while we watch. This would encourage people to actually come and watch instead of just watching from the side or as most do it. This is a wonderful thought and will definitely inspire other people to think of creative ways to support their local schools and youth groups. The Academie Awards is on year after year and the current list of recipients only makes it look like we are really behind them. It’s time we showed the community and the actors that we appreciate what they do and the award show and support them in any way that we can. Let’s show them that we support our youth and the outstanding work they are doing.
This summer I want to host a picnic: at my place and invite the actors and actresses to come. I will post information on it soon but for now, I’m just planning on inviting some of my closest friends. Everyone likes to get together for different reasons and this summer is going to be fun for all of us. Who knows, we may even invite the actors and actresses to our small group if they will. We can get together with the local Chamber of Commerce and the Rotary Club of our area and plan a party.
Let me tell you, I’ve been looking forward to this event for years: My daughter was just eight when her mother died and it really hit her hard when she went to High School without her mom. I wanted to do something for her and make her remember her. So last year when her junior prom came around I told her that I would help her in planning one of her favorite shows of the year, The Academy Awards, and asked her to come.
Since then I have been so happy that she did and we all have a lot of fun watching the show together.
